They’ve Got The POWER!
Twitter is amazing. I continue to be awed by the kinds of opportunities that it creates. One such example is a letter that I just received from one of our Twitter friends. Here is the letter as I received it:
Dear Luke,
It has come to my attention, Megan, and two of my friends, Blake and Hannah that Fireside Int. is in need of four Minuteman True-online UPS Power Conditioners. After doing some research into these boxes we have decided that this project can’t be forgotten.
Blake Hannah and I have been looking for something to support, something that we find worthy of our time, energy, money, and most importantly, prayer. We would like to help Fireside International raise the necessary funds for this very important project.
I have followed Fireside Int. on Twitter for enough time to have been amazed at the amount of support followers are giving to every project Fireside Int. has supported this far. We know that without these boxes this organization wouldn’t be able to open the computer school that so many hearts have been pouring into for so long.
Blake, Hannah, and I would like to help Fireside Int. in a campaign to fund the Minuteman True-online UPS Power Conditioners. We want to prove to the world that the youth are very much involved in the issues concerning the world today (underline added by Luke). We will document our efforts, and hope that Fireside Int. will be willing to back up our work. With the help of Fireside Int. and social networking we hope to open this computer school in Haiti.
Our goal will be to “fun”draise the approximately $1400 within the next month. Without the help of Fireside Int. and followers, we will not be able to accomplish this dream. Through video updates we will keep Fireside Int. and its followers updated on the progress of this important
It’s time to thank Fireside Int. for the work they do in Haiti, and more importantly for their passion to revolutionize the education system. It’s time to show that education is important and that youth are on a mission to show the world what they can do.
It’s time to have some fun and show Haiti that, “We’ve Got the Power”!
With Love,
Megan, Blake, & Hannah
I’d be a fool to try and add to that! What I will say is THANKS to Megan, Blake, and Hannah for taking the initiative to pick this project up in such an incredibly energizing way. To help the three of you out, I have created this easy-to-use donation tool:
Once the funds are raised, the four online power backups will be sent directly to us! If you raise less than the goal, a check for the amount raised will be sent (which we will apply toward the purchase of the backups when the rest is raised). If you raise MORE, a check for the extra will be sent along with the power backups. It’s that easy!
Alright everyone! So now it’s up to all of us! From my perspective, even if you don’t believe in the importance of computers in Haiti, we still owe it to these three to honor their commitment to do great things for their world! 10 Bucks is the least it takes to throw them your vote of confidence!
Thanks!
